Focusing on all these areas of health might not be necessary for you; however, what if they are?  Tackling everything at once is overwhelming!

The good news is that starting to make tweaks in just one area has a ripple effect on all the other health areas. You’ll notice as you focus in one area, other areas will naturally improve. Fun!

  • Food is fuel for your body, and it also plays a role in your family life, social life, emotional health and overall happiness. There isn’t a one-size-fits-all way to eat. However, making upgrades to what you eat, especially adding more whole grains, fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts and seeds to your plate, can jump start turning your health scare around and are key to maintaining your health. Healthy food doesn’t have to be blah! Together we’ll explore what the best way of eating is for you. What you eat rejuvenates your mind and body, and gives you the get-up and go to live the life you love.

  • Call it exercise or physical activity, it’s better when it becomes a fun way to move your body, and it will do wonders for your mind, body and brain. Physical activity doesn’t have to be punishing or done in one chunk of time. Being active throughout your day counts! Together we’ll figure out what physical activity is meaningful for you, and gets you the results and rewards you want – be it an energy and mood boost or better focus and creativity. Moving your body is key to staying active and self-reliant throughout life.

  • Some stress is normal and inevitable. But you have to go beyond coping with stress to experience a health transformation. In fact, the secret to slowing down or reversing a health challenge and getting even better with age, is having positive ways to respond to and release stress. Together we’ll find strategies for responding to stress that set you up for a life of growing bolder, instead of feeling old.

  • Sleep is one of the most important ways to restore and rejuvenate both your brain and body. Think of sleep as a nightly “nutrient” for your cognitive functioning: things like your ability to concentrate, pay attention, be creative, solve problems, make good decisions, and for your body: things like strengthening your immune system. Being well rested will absolutely give you more energy to feel connected with your goals and helps you stay on track.

  • It’s true, people need people. When you’re working on your health goals, if you over rely on your own willpower, you’ll discover it’s a fickle friend and often is nowhere to be found when you need it the most. The “secret sauce” to feeling great and turning your health around is social connections. It’s so much easier and more fun to stick with your healthy lifestyle goals when you do them with others - family, friends and groups. In mid-life and beyond, community becomes increasingly important for not only your well-being, but your sense of belonging and longevity in years to come.
